Anthem pc requirements update#
It could be that you arn't able to use ingame vo-ip if anthem uses the xbox app support for voice communications (some future crossplay would be easier with xbox), but i don't know if this is used or a custom created vo-ip (I think they will use their own origin vo-ip system.īut it can be that it won't run anymore if a future update needs something that only windows 10 offers (nvidia DLSS, which is announced, but would be an optional feature. things(especially if they only add the win10 needed packages in the setup files - you will get an failed installation message).
Anthem pc requirements windows 7#
It most likely will run on windows 7 if you update some c++ redist.
since i know it works until X time, i can't complain at that "some" point because i already know it will happens. I don't care if they can't say until how much, the fact is. I would surelly send out again my preorder if i get a chance to know that it will work on W7.
Anthem pc requirements upgrade#
I'd play it until I couldn't, then decide at that time whether I want to upgrade or not. Especially if it worked on my existing computer.
Personally, if I paid for a game, I'd play it. But if they could, and they announced it, it would simply delay the inevitable: When it's time to update, people would still complain. To be honest, I would be very surprised if they had any way of knowing when/if they would need to drop everything to do with Windows 7. Yes, they could come out and say that it will be fine for a while, but you'll need to update at some point. I'd play it until I couldn't, then decide at that time whether I want to upgrade or if you're waiting for EA to tell you that they are supporting Windows 7, you will be waiting a long time. But EA can't officially confirm anything, so it's up to you what you want to do. So, it seems like you're getting your wish - part of it anyway - that Anthem will (potentially) run on Windows 7 for the next X amount of time. But if they could, and they announced it, it would simply delay the inevitable: When it's time to update, people would still complain.Īt this point, the game will almost definitely work fine on Windows 7, and could be that way for quite some time. i(we)'ll do if you're waiting for EA to tell you that they are supporting Windows 7, you will be waiting a long time. Even if the devs says "it will work on W7 for some years but later on you'll have to switch to the new OS" (again, let it be 1 year, but i'm more sure it to be for other good 5 years at least), well. Now, still, i do want again an answer about it working on W7. When it will happens that i'll have to forcefully change the OS to play (and work mainly) i'll do it, but i'm not going to do it and force also my friends and the group i wanted to start with to play togheter (10 people about) to change the OS for a game. all i want is play it until it is supported and works with W7. It still works perfectly fine even better than W10 and that will stay as that for a lot of time still. The issue is not about the "mind of change it" but about change it RIGHT NOW. Hopefully, that's a while in the future, which would give people time to save up for Windows 10. In other words, when/if it reaches the point where they would have to make 2 separate games (one for Win7 and one for Win10), well, honestly, no-one should expect them to do that. But if there comes a point where the two become too different, the company must make the decision that is best for its own longevity. If it's feasible to support the previous OS, fine.
Anthem pc requirements software#
Any software company would be expected to work on the current platform. Unfortunately, Windows 7 is on its way out. At that time you can re-evaluate whether you should upgrade your OS or not. But that's simply because computers evolve and, in order for video games to evolve alongside that, we as players need to upgrade our own systems. There will almost definitely be a point in the future when you would need to upgrade to Windows 10. If the demo works fine, you're good to go on Windows 7 for the time being. not going to change an OS for a game, unless it will be 100% necessary on the long run (let it be 1 or 5 years).
